Why We Were Founded
After taking a course entitled Perspectives in Women’s Health (WS/NURS 220), founders Reina and Lili were empowered to continue discussing prevalent women’s health issues outside the classroom with people from all sectors of the campus community.

While there were several feminist student groups already established on campus, Reina and Lili noticed a lack of opportunity when it came to collectively discussing and advocating for women’s rights specifically related to health and well-being. Thus, in the summer of 2017, the two decided to create their own organization that was dedicated to creating just this.
Our Mission

As a student organization at the University of Michigan campus, we hope to encourage consciousness-raising and activism. Through this, WORTH's mission is for members to empower one another and confront prevalent issues in women’s health, subsequently enacting change at various levels. WORTH approaches these issues through smaller focus groups by partnering with organizations that cater to the needs of women’s health
What do our members do?
Throughout the school year, our organization takes part in weekly meetings, internal education presentations, socials, and collaborative events with other organizations. Our members are also designated to focus groups which narrow in on a topic in women's health. Throughout the year, our focus groups conduct projects that are designed to educate our community while also contributing through access, fundraising, etc.
